- Are all your products sold vintage?

Everything we sell is vintage. This means it is second-hand and has been previously worn. It is within our best interest to sell our products as honestly as we can. Therefore, anything with defects will be photographed/stated in the item description. 

 

 - Why buy vintage products?

Buying vintage clothing helps to reduce the amount of clothing going to landfill each year. According to ClothingAid, around 350,000 tonnes of clothing go to waste each year in the UK alone. It is our main focus to extend the life of second-hand clothing in order to significantly reduce the carbon, water and waste footprints that clothing has on the environment. By purchasing our vintage products, we are achieving these goals together.

 

- If a product has sold out, will it come back in stock?

All items are one of one, so unfortunately we cannot restock the same items. Whist we cannot guarantee to get specific pieces, sizes or colours back in stock, we drop new items often so you may always find something similar.

 

- How do I place an order?

If you wish to add an item to your basket, click the 'Add to Cart' tab on the product listing. Once you are ready to check out, go to your basket and click the 'Check Out' button. Enter your shipping information and select the desired postage method. Here, you will be asked for your payment details and your order will be placed.

 

- Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major Credit and Debit cards, as well as PayPal and Apple Pay. 

 

- How much does shipping cost?

- When will my item be dispatched? 

All orders are dispatched within 1-2 working days after payment confirmation. Shipping times may take longer during busy periods. 

 

- Can I amend my order?

We cannot amend an order once it has been placed. If you have entered your address incorrectly, we advise to contact us, email us secondhandsoph@aol.co.uk or message via our Instagram @secondhandsoph_

We work through our orders as quickly as possible to ensure a speedy and efficient delivery time for our customers. Therefore, it is advised to contact us immediately. If your order has already been shipped, we will not be able to cancel your order. We are also not liable for any orders that are sent to an incorrect address. If your parcel is unable to be delivered and therefore 'returned to sender', we will issue a refund for the items, minus any shipping paid, once they have successfully come back to us. 

 

- The size of an item I purchased does not correspond to the size it was listed as?

Due to the nature of second-hand clothing, there are clear discrepancies in sizing. This is because of many reasons, which include but are not limited to: washing, shrinking/stretching and variations of styles throughout different eras. For example, a size medium from the 1980's will fit differently to a size medium from the 1990's. 

We will always state what the products actual 'size label states', as well as our 'recommended size'. 

Please note that vintage sizing is subjective and we therefore cannot be held accountable for the size we list our products as. We strongly advise that you use our product measurements provided on each product listing. We cannot be held accountable for minor discrepancies in measurements.

- Can I return an item?

Items can be returned for a full refund within 14 days (21 for International orders). For information on returning an order, please see here. Please allow 7 days for us to process your refund once it has reached our warehouse.

 

- My item arrived not in the condition it was stated as?

With the nature of vintage, all items have been previously worn. However, we always try to state/photograph any significant defects in the item description. Please keep in mind that defects to the inside of an item, or tiny nicks that may be missed during the photography stage do not count as significant damage. 

Much of our stock dates back decades, as we prefer to sell vintage products with unique characteristics that are only developed with time and wear. 

With our range of vintage workwear and Levi's, we deliberately source pieces that are distressed and in our opinion, beautifully aged. These imperfections are what makes our stock unique and reinforces each item being one of one. 

We will not accept any requests that we cover a return shipping cost on items that are meant to have distressed characteristics.
